This is a paid for collaboration with Turtle Mats
As much as I love living in a period house, sometimes on a rainy day when I’m dragging a wet pushchair through the hall or when visitors come over, I wish I had a nice little side lobby to stop the dirt getting in to the house.
Thankfully though, there are great products out there to help with the issue and if you are on the hunt for a dirt-trapping mat then look no further!
A doormat of old was just a means to an end but these days doormats are as much of a feature in a hall as an item of furniture.
Turtle Mats are a great brand to look at if you are someone who doesn’t just want the ‘run-of-the-mill’ doormat but prefer something that will fit in with your décor and style.
They have a huge amount of styles and patterns as well as collaborations with well-known brands, which feature their characteristic designs.
I selected the Botanica print, which is part of their collection with the RHS. I chose this one because I love a floral pattern and also the deep blue contrasts nicely against the grey of my hallway. It doesn’t slip and feels comfortable under foot, soaking up all of the autumnal rain we’ve had recently.
Each mat is made from super absorbent cotton fibers, which trap dirt and moisture to stop it from being walked through your home. The best thing is that each mat can be slung into the washing machine on a 40º wash and even tumble dried.
I tend to love the more patterned designs; here are some of my other favourite designs.
