At 6ft 2” one of Adam’s gripes for the last year is that our bed has a foot on the end, resulting in him having to adopt the fetal position. I’m 5ft 2” so am more than happy to tuck my little toes into the space between the mattress and the bed foot. Also, with a second child arriving in the spring we decided that in order for us all to get in together (something of a morning habit that we seemed to have fallen into) we could probably do with a king size bed.

We were contacted by for collaboration and jumped at the opportunity to get a new fabulous bed that would tick all the boxes.

After careful consideration, we settled on The Audrey bed and after viewing a few different samples, we selected the shade Armour.

This image reflects the true shade of Armour better. The main photo looks very blue, which in real life, it isn’t

The Audrey bed takes its inspiration from the Betty Chair, which was popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s. It has a large softly curved headboard with delicate button detail. The frame of the bed is like a big cushioned bumper protecting you as you sleep and the legs have a mid-century feel.

There are several fabric options for you to deliberate over but we wanted to go for the smart velvet option. The smart velvet is Teflon coated which means that any spillages won’t sink into the fabric fiber too quickly. Allowing you to mop up any cups of tea, or tomato ketchup from your Sunday morning bacon sarnie without too much drama.

It feels soft, looks very luxurious and adds a beautiful texture to the room.

We wanted to go for a deep grey and selected the shade in Armour. It’s a beautiful deep slate and we thought it fitted perfectly with our current shade of Farrow & Ball Pigeon but would also go with any colour we chose to redecorate in.

There are almost too many shades to chose from when selecting your bed colour but I think if you’re going to go for a big glamorous bed like this one then go for a bold colour, it can totally take it.

Our bed was gifted as part of our collaboration with however a king size Audrey bed in this fabric would normally cost £1,410.

There are also lots of other styles and don’t forget, some pretty amazing sofa’s too so well worth checking out if you are after a statement item of furniture that will see you through for years to come.
